Digital signage or digital billboarding is often used incorrectly when moving images with different displays, such as plasma or LCD screens, are displayed. Manufacturers of large-screen displays and projectors, equipment providers of conference and exhibition technology or even television stations are often referred to as “digital signage providers”.

This is not the case, however, since in digital Sigage it is really a question of linking (audio) visual information systems together in order to manage their contents programmatically or manually. To ensure this, a combination of presentation technology, hardware, network connection as well as software, content management and network management is required. Digital signage is much more than pure broadcast solution, presentation system without network connection or kiosk system without daily updates of the regional content.
